Woman’s retreat in Ripon, North Yorkshire organised by our lovely friend Ella Young Wellness.
This is a retreat for women to bathe in self-love, a sensual journey into the Divine within. You will be joined by just a small handful of other women for a very intimate experience.
The summer solstice is associated with the element FIRE. The translation in Sanskrit is ‘Agni’ which refers to our digestive fire. This is about processing food, experiences, emotions and all impressions we take in daily. Ayurveda teaches us that agni is the key to our holistic health and during this retreat we will observe this through a variety of practices.
We will be gathering during the longest days of the year where the qualities of the sun can dominate. During our time together we will be honouring the heat while also maintaining a sense of balance by implementing cooling rituals that offer a sense of calm.
The feminine arts have been practiced since ancient times but have always been much quieter than those which are seen to be ‘productive’ and ‘successful’. Women from all around the world have been gathering within their communities to practice ritual together and simmer in the feminine aspects of being. This is a special opportunity to recreate the medicine of our ancestors.
We will be working with the ancient teachings of Tantra, Ayurveda and Yoga to honour this specific time in the year, to stop and create a special celebration to mark the moving of time.
Yoga will be practiced outside each day to immerse in the season of summer. It will be suitable for all levels (a beginner’s yoga course is highly recommended prior to the retreat) and will cover both yang and yin styles.
Ula team will not only be attending this event, but gifting all attendees with our Hand Made Incense Holder + 10 Naturally Sourced Incense Sticks.
